This is quite in-depth, really. But as long as you have def increments of 50 or 25, you can notice damage reductions, by one or more points from rifles. Haha.

Btw, if an EN user is equipped with GOLGI [which increases dmg by 7%], the EN values here are still accurate. Just calculate the normal dmg of the EN weapon, then add 7% to the AP loss.
