LR: is max leg weight really something you shouldn't go over? - Rexzo - 12-01-2010

In Armored core 4 i remember i made a over middle/light (i rly don't remember this was like a year ago) weight AC. At first it was slow but powerful (had the dual [i think it was dual Ermm] hi laser cannons) but when i purged those my AC was completely different it was fast and aggressive. i don't know i find this very significant because it would surprise the opponent and they would have to change their tactics completely! i think Ibis/Sera in Silent line did this very same tactic for example when you start the fight with Ibis he's extremely slow but when the wing like shoulder units are gone, he's fast and in your face...i just thought of this recently and it won't go away so I'm posting it and asking what do you guys think of this tactic? The only situations where going overweight is good is when you make a choice dropper in AC3-LR or use and dump echidna2 in NX-LR at the start of each fight, or run something like 69M+RM do the same thing. It's ok to go slightly overweight as long as it doesn't slow you down much. in NX-LR stronger builds almost always stay underweight anyway.

As for the tactic of starting slow then surprising them with speed, you will get hit a lot before you drop stuff and they will quickly realize you're fast that your advantage will really only last 5 seconds or so. You can't expect everyone to get within your big guns' range when you're slow either.

yeah it "might" surprise them for awhile but not worth it to go overweight just to surprise them O_O

I remember asking Nerese(Serene) to make me a biped for one of the PACTs that I played in, I never even got to drop the stuff that I had to drop LOL

The whole point of that was, unload the shots, drop the gun, go high speed. I didn't even know how to drop weapons (and I still don't, even now LOL )

I guess it's okay to go slightly overweight if you can land your shots well, then drop the extra weight and play on.

Well as I have experienced...

Being overweight is alright as long as you can maintain a max boost speed of at least 370..

Which is kinda in ideal...
