PediBOAT pedaling through Taft RIVER.

I'm just grateful that I have a roof over my head. It's even a greater bonus that it's not flooded here at all, and I have electricity and internet.

Hope the rest of you are ok.

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Sforza - 09-26-2009

Text from my mom,
"Disaster! Continuous rain whole morning. Creek overflow. House flooded. Whole ground floor flooded till knees. Water in garage reached headlights of cars. Road reaching waist. Living room and kitchen looks like it just went through a war. Terrible. Never happened in 50 years."

Facebook wall post from brother,
"MY HOUSE IS FUCKING UNDERWATER. FUKK FUCK. was outside pushing 4 cars manually in chest high m*thrf*cking waste flood water. FUCK THIS. Die Urdaneta Die."

"my house has literally no more first floor. the cars and dining table and sofas were all submerged."

"god i just learned flood water really makes you smell like shit"

It's great that you're there, where you are, Jake. Sorry about your house, though. And everyone else's house for that matter.

Quote:while stuck in traffic the truck driver behind me got out of the drivers seat...grabbed a bar of soap..and decided to take a shower. Gusto niya yatang gumawa ng bubble bath para sa lahat ng na stranded. Hehe. At least i wasn't bored while trying to brave the floods.

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Goat - 09-26-2009

I guess we're quite lucky that our compound was built on an elevated platform. No flood as of now, and currently our internet signal doesn't seem to be affected by the rain as well.

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Fox - 09-26-2009

Does anyone know what the situation is like along EDSA and in Pasay at the moment? My aunt called up a bit earlier, saying that my cousin was stuck in MoA and needs someone to pick her up there.

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - iraya-sama - 09-26-2009

i don't understand why camarines norte is under calamity. It only rained here, like twice + very cold drafts. well siguro para sa mga taong nasa mountain ares. pero lol, ive been outside the whole day to break my hikki streak. @___@ ugh, guys, sana ok lang kayo kung nasan man kayo ~~

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Lord_Leperman - 09-26-2009

EDSA southbound was pretty clear at least until the Buendia area around 4pm, though i don't know the condition of the tunnels near Ayala. Northbound was bumper to bumper with no sign of moving earlier. Beware about taking EDSA to MOA, it crosses Roxas blvd which is prone to floods even during regular rainy days, though that area leading to MOA is not a flood-prone as other areas of Roxas blvd.

I'll call up doc for any info as he lives near the area. I'll update you later. UPDATE: No info, he's pretty much had no idea if its safe or not.

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Shintetsu - 09-27-2009

I'd say, we're pretty lucky here. 'Net still worked well, no power outage, sa 4th floor kami nakatira sa condominium, and at most, a couple of inches of floodwater made it to the condo's ground floor. Deepest point of the flood was near the waist here, and the flood's receding quite quickly.

Office complex of Century Park Hotel is underground, so I guess that's why my mom's sleeping at the hotel today. I guess their offices are doomed for now.

I'm sorta glad I didn't decide to go to Taft a short while after the rain started. Siguro kung pumunta ako dun, nasa internet cafe pa rin ako hanggang ngayon. LOL That's assuming that there are other players to PVP with, and there are no hiccups in the cafe's operation.

Then again, ang bilis naubos ng food sa 7-11, even some of the other shops downstairs only had instant noodles and junk food remaining >_>
On another note, I wonder how Jobet is doing o__o

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Sforza - 09-27-2009

Right outside where I live. Awesome.
The sign says, "pedestrian walkway map" ... lol

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Shintetsu - 09-27-2009

It's a sunny day, and the there's no sign of flood here at Taft. Or at least, along Vito Cruz to CCP.

Parang walang nangyaring baha. o__o

RE: Frakkin Flood n' Rain - Fox - 09-27-2009

Damnit, five hours to MoA and back, for a trip that normally takes around three quarters of an hour. Nichols and SLEX was still tolerable but Magallanes and EDSA in Pasay was just hellish.

It's over. I hope it's over.

EDIT - Oh crap no, it's started raining again...
