I don't know if in this stage my advise will be able to help you, but ridiculously as it sounds try boiling the cd(I know it sounds crazy). I once watched my classmate did this method, in his ps2 cds and my reply was as good as yours(WTF) it worked. In disbelief I tried it on one of my non working pc cds.. it worked..

BTW imersing your dvd in boiling water for 1 min, let the exess water drip, then punasan ng lint-free anti-static basahan.

LOL sounds great. There's nothing to lose if the disc isn't being read by the player anyway.

How can you download vids from Youtube? I remember asking our teacher about this, but I forgot what he said...

If it's from youtube, install either one of these plug-ins to firefox:

there are others too. Just follow the instructions and you'll be able to save the vid. Unfortunately, the videos will be saved as a ".flv" file. You'll then need a video player that can handle that file format. There are programs that can convert a .flv to more conventional formats like .avi or .mpg but I don't know where you can get one.

Just copy the Youtube link and it automatically puts it in for you...Then press OK...Then when it's done downloading click convert video then click the folder, find your .flv video, then drop down the menu and select the file format you want, and convert it.
