I just felt like posting this up after reading about GSC(the developers) shutting down. I really loved the series, from realistic environments, Creepy atmosphere, enemy AI, storyline, bullet physics, mods and even the bad russian engrish it is just the best FPS/RPG games I've played, IMO it is so good I didn't even bother finishing Fallout 3 when I bought my first copy of the game.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series which is supposed to be released next year, but it's hard to say what the future holds right now.

this is one of the games i loved to play. especially when i found a mod that made the lighting more realistic, especially at night and in dark areas.
still havent played any of the expansions tho

My favorite mod so far is Oblivion lost. I remember when I was going back to the bar and found several dead NPCs lying around. I thought it was the monolith faction that did all the killing but then I found a dead controller near the bar entrance:


As for the expansions, I can only recommend Call of Pripyat since the second installment(Clear Sky) has a bug that stops you from progressing in your missions. Both have much improved graphics over the old one but I think the first game still have more interesting Missions.

cant remember the name of the mod i used. used it two years ago or something. it's prolly been absorbed into a mod pack

I played Call of Pripyat and it was a blast. Really sad to hear about GSC closing its doors, STALKER 2 would have been on my game wish list.
