it looks to me that you might be able to equip two separate arm types in ACV, like one of them is high En compatibility for a laser rifle, and the other arm something that you can handle the recoil of a machinegun.

I like how the ACs themselves look gritty and mechanical. What I don't like is how the weapons look. They seem more oversized and ridiculous than usual. =/
the shield on the biped legs seem to be for when they kneel o_O basically a built in chest high wall ... so I guess instead of giving you op-i abilities (ac4) they are now making an effort to give none quad/tnk acs the option to use cannon type back mounts ... or so it seems.
but from the pic the ac that was kneeling didn't have a back mount .. sniping position?
EDIT: yeah it was the second pic I was looking at the pic before that clearly shows an ac using a big ass sniper rifle.

Yup, the shield for bipeds seems to spread out when kneeling.
There seems to be a zoom-in function for snipers too.
I said in the article that you can have a different arm for each of the 2 sides of the AC, but I'm not actually sure if that's the case. Maybe you can stack armor plating or something.
If they put up a shield system in ACV, it means only one thing. Destructible parts.
I think the environment is mostly destructible too.
