RM3 and 69M are only there for initial free damage. Try to get as many volleys out without getting hit and just drop them ASAP. The speed should then be at 520, with surplus EP climbing to 3360.
For other hovers, I'd use LOTUS+R92 or G69+Linden/Ananda. But in this case, I need the extra energy for SHADE. UA does a VERY nice job of soaking heat anyway.
The AC is meant to be played at midrange, where SHADE will excel and the armor and speed make sure that this maintains AP lead. You can play the clock too and just drop everything and run.
As with all non-OB hovers, the fun ends when the legs break. High AP and armor help to avoid or at least delay such a situation from happening.
