    Did any of you guys try to ask the webmaster of that site to stop it with the plagiarism beforehand? I'm thinking it's more it's more of laziness; as in they (he?) assumed that you guys copied press releases by From anyway.

    We have the (horribly stupid) DMCA law here in the US, so that other site's position is pretty indefensible if worse comes to worse.

      This looks bad for the online AC community as a whole. It’s sad because the weren’t many fansites to begin with in the first place. I’m pretty disappointed that the owner of the most prominent fansite had to go with the worst possible response to this issue. This website also could probably have tried to ask politely at first to stop it with the minor plagiarizing. Linking back really is proper netiquette though.

      It feels like speaking to a wall, but I hope both sides can just stop it. I’m glad that ACO is back and someone’s trying to drum up interest (I got your facebook invite and joined). In short, it wouldn’t hurt either of you to try and help each other for the time being. AC is already too much of a niche community as is. Stop acting like everyone hates you, EJraven.

    I don't think FROM makes English press releases hahaha. And since most of us here can't read Japanese, we have to wait and borrow the information from other sources. But at least we try to add our own input and give credit where it's due.

Used to be tight and friendly, people didn't care about crap like this, now people write full blog post about it like their life depended on it.

    I have to say, you guys did handle this rather poorly. I mean, instead of discussing it privately and maturely, you immediately posted a giant red inflammatory headline and a screencap.

    While I agree plagiarism is a big deal, this is a pretty minor instance of it, I mean ACO does have a permanent link to Raven Republic on the front page.

    I think we would do well to settle down a bit, the Armored Core community is small enough, we don't need people starting drama like this.

    It started a couple of years back, when your site, ACO, fell into a state of un-maintenance and you sometimes vanished for months at a time. People had to put up with the forum being unusable at times because the site was loading too many things/duplicate files at the same time, and still you weren't there. Those were the first rumblings. If you didn't feel it then, let me say it to you now up front: people started to distrust you. The ones who were left behind to administrate the site had to do it with severly limited/no FTP access. After ACO went out, people created their own communities (ACOi, ACU) since the big hub was gone.

    I have no idea of your financial situation so if you really had problems, then no one can really blame you for letting go of the site and focusing on your real life. However, people have moved on from ACO. The community has moved on, and it has become segmented. The tight community you knew once when AC in the US pretty much revolved around MoC, or after, ACO 3.0, is gone now.

    People here wrote this post because they felt disrespected, not because their life depended on it. This was someone else's work. A link back would have been the proper thing to do from the start.

    The present sidebar link is appreciated of course. I thank you for that.

    EDIT: As NiX said, we too want to move on from this, since it's ugly business.

    Wow, if this is true, then it's a sad thing for the Armored Core community. No worries, I will fix all the damage that has been done. Let's bring Armored Core and its community back to the glory of old days. No, how about you actually getting paid to write Armored Core blog posts?     Thanks for the input, Mr. Anonymous. ACO put that link up only now. And for me, any instance of plagiarism is a “big deal”.

    We've pretty much minded our own business for the past so-many years. But, though our culture pretty much dictates that we always look for a “compromise”, we will not sit idly when we are abused.

    Anyway, as you can see, we're getting things fixed.
